Charles E. Young (born December 30, 1931), nicknamed Chuck Young, is an American former university administrator and professor. Young is a native of California, and earned bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees before becoming a professor. He is the chancellor emeritus of University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and a professor at the UCLA School of Public Affairs, former chancellor of UCLA, former president of the University of Florida, and later the chief executive officer of the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art. == Early life and education ==
Young was born in Highland, California in 1931. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After completing his military service, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, in political science from the University of California, Riverside in 1955. While he was at UCR, he was the campus's first student body president. He received his Master of Arts and doctor of philosophy degrees in political science from UCLA in 1957 and 1960, respectively.
